From October to January, I had the opportunity to complete my internship within the media team of OH Leuven. During this period, I discovered my passion for sports photography.
As an intern, I was responsible for capturing training sessions of the first team—both men's and women's—as well as the U23 squad for the club's social media channels. This quickly became one of my key responsibilities. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work as a photographer on matchdays, gaining firsthand experience of the performance and time pressure that comes with being part of a top-level football club's media team.
A highlight of my internship was the opportunity to be the sole photographer at a couple of first-team matches. While a videographer and social media manager were present, I was fully responsible for capturing all photographic content. This was an incredible learning experience in handling high-pressure situations independently. Another unforgettable moment was the away match against Club Brugge in the Croky Cup, where I was among the fans, capturing their passion and energy to showcase the matchday atmosphere.
I also got the chance to be solely responsible for managing the club’s social media channels during matchdays for both the women's first team and the U23 squad, handling both content creation and live updates. Furthermore, I was present at kit shoots, where I contributed to capturing essential media assets. Besides photography, I also created small graphic visuals to support the club’s online presence.
On a weekly basis, I attended meetings regarding content planning, matchday activations, and overall scheduling, which gave me valuable insight into the strategic side of media operations within a professional football club.
I would like to thank everyone at OH Leuven for this fantastic experience and for the many opportunities I was given.
